Workshop on
Geospatial Ontologies 2023
Topics of interest (not exhaustive)
Anything related to the design, analysis, or use of ontologies, knowledge graphs and other semantic representations of geographic, built or other physical spaces and objects (e.g. engineered or natural artifacts), including but not limited to:
  • Uses with spatial data such as for integration, alignment, publishing, retrieval, querying or reasoning
  • Methodological aspects around the construction, population, alignment, or verification
  • Applications in various domains and use cases
  • Description of use cases that use or would benefit from new or improved spatial semantics
  • Challenges to be addressed by the next generation of semantic spatial representations
Dates
  • 19 May 2023 - Abstract and paper submission deadline.
  • 15 June 2023 - Notification of acceptance.
  • 30 June 2023 - Camera-ready version (for papers).
  • 19 or 20 July 2023 - Workshop day (in-person only).
Submission Requirements
We invite the submission of statements of interests as well as original research results and proposed research directions related to the focus areas of the workshop, in one of the three categories given below:
  • Full papers (up to 14 pages, including references) with mature work and established results, including research reports and surveys
  • Short/position papers (4-6 pages, including references) presenting proposed research directions, new open issues, ideas and challenges, positions and opinions on the status of the field
  • Abstracts (up to 500 words) with a position statement, a statement of interest, a use case or application or a challenge, a project, a tool, a research group, a paper/poster/demo presented at the main conference, related to the topics of the workshop
Full and short papers must be formatted using the one-column CEUR-ART style (instructions here) and submitted non-anonymously in PDF via EasyChair at this link: in the ``Geospatial Ontologies" track.

Proceedings
  • Accepted full and short papers will be published in the proceedings of the Joint Ontology Workshops (JOWO 2023). Accepted abstracts will only be distributed on the website and to workshop participants. For accepted full and short papers, participation and presentation by one of the authors is required.
